Cooperation in military training

    ABIDJAN

    Ghana’s Armed Forces Staff College is preparing to launch a Masters programme that will benefit local as well as Nigerian officers, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) reported the head of the college as saying on Tuesday.

    Making the announcement during a visit by a Nigerian delegation, Maj-Gen Carl Coleman said the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the war college in Nigeria should run an exchange programme rather than duplicate courses.

    The leader of the Nigerian delegation, Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence Brig-Gen O.A. Azazi, said long-standing military ties between the two countries should be strengthened. He called for more cooperation in peacekeeping and the sharing of ideas to help sustain peace in West Africa, GBC said.
