Mauritanian military officers will receive advanced training in Spain under a new bilateral agreement, Africa Numero Un reported on Tuesday. The Gabonese radio station said military cooperation between the two countries had been limited to the navy, but the army and air force are now included. Members of Mauritania's armed forces used to undergo training in France but military cooperation ties with Paris were cut last year over the arrest in France of a senior Mauritanian officer accused of torture.
