Fisheries ministers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have adopted the final version of a SADC fisheries protocol, news reports said on Monday. The document would be submitted to a summit of SADC heads of state in August for approval. News reports said the protocol is intended to regulate fishing in southern Africa within the framework of poverty reduction and the sustainable management of marine resources.
