Activists arrested.

Four members of Cameroon’s Campaign Group Against Impunity, Le Collectif contre l’impunite (CNI), were arrested on Thursday and have been detained at the central police station in Douala, AFP reported. The four, accused of “illegal demonstration”, are to appear in court on Wednesday, the news agency said. The CNI was created to protest rights abuses and impunity, especially in the case of nine youths who have not been seen since 28 January. They disappeared five days after they were arrested by Douala’s special crime fighting unit for allegedly stealing a gas canister. A Cameroonian group known as Christian Action Against Torture, L’Action des chretiens contre la torture, said on 2 March that the youths were killed with acid along with 41 others.
