Rainstorm leaves hundreds homeless

    ABIDJAN

    About 600 people have been made homeless by a rainstorm that destroyed 124 houses and a primary school in Kadjebi, a district in central Ghana’s Volta Region, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) reported. GNA said a parliamentarian who visited the affected area told journalists he had asked the forestry department to provide the community with tree seedlings for planting as windbreaks. The parliamentarian also expressed concern about illegal logging in the area and called on residents to help stop it, GNA reported.
