Up to ten people died and dozens of houses were razed following a series of communal clashes last week in central Nigeria, local newspapers reported.
The violence between members of the Tiv and Kwala ethnic groups of Plateau and Nasarawa states began on Tuesday and lasted three days. Reports indicated that between four and ten people were killed and up to 40 houses were burned to the ground. The violence was reportedly started by Kwalas in retaliation for the death last year of one of their kinsmen at the hands of the Tivs.
