“No areas of disagreement - Masire

    NAIROBI

    The facilitator of the inter-Congolese dialogue, former Botswana president Ketumile Masire, on Monday said that Congolese signatories to the Lusaka agreement were in “general agreement” about the fundamental principles of the Lusaka peace accord. “Fortunately, we have no areas of disagreement,” DRC state-run television quoted Masire as saying on Monday. The DRC government commissioner in charge of relations with the UN Observer Mission in DRC (MONUC), Leonard Twaremba Onfre, expressed his government’s readiness to contribute to the “success” of the inter-Congolese dialogue. Masire arrived in Kinshasa on Sunday. He visited the rebel-held areas of eastern DRC last week.
