UN discusses borders with Eritrea

Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Ethiopia and Eritrea, Legwaila Joseph Legwaila met Eritrean President Isayas Afewerki in Asmara, on Monday. A spokesman at the UN headquarters in New York said the two had held “positive discussions” in the Eritrean capital, including talks on the proposed establishment of the Temporary Security Zone (TSZ) between Eritrea and Ethiopia. The Eritrean government suspended redeployment of its troops when it disputed the operational map being used by UNMEE. According to the Eritrean government, the map differed from the boundaries previously agreed by the two parties
