Kerekou reelected

    ABIDJAN
    President Matthieu Kerekou won 84 percent of the vote at the second round of Benin’s presidential elections, held on 22 March, media organisations reported. He ran against the candidate who had placed fourth at the first round on 4 March. The second- and third-place candidates boycotted the runoff because of alleged fraud.
