Four soldiers, civilian killed

Four soldiers and a civilian were killed in an ambush on Saturday at Mpanda, Bubanza province north of Bujumbura, army spokesman Colonel Longin Minani said on Tuesday. He said the soldiers met their death as they were travelling to attend a funeral of their colleague. "A rocket fired by a lady destroyed the vehicle. The lady was shot in return and died on the spot," Minani said. In the past week, scores of people have killed on the outskirts of Bujumbura in rebel attacks.
