Gubbay at work

    JOHANNESBURG

    Zimbabwe's Chief Justice Anthony Gubbay defied the government which had announced his removal and turned up for work on Thursday, news reports said. Despite assertions by Patrick Chinamasa, Zimbabwe's justice minister, that the top judge's tenure was over, the government shied away from direct confrontation and offered no resistance to his entry. Information Minister Jonathan Moyo toned down his rhetoric and spoke of a "humane way" of resolving the problem.
