Some 100 members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) were arrested after a detachment of six Lagos state police vehicles stormed the organisation's offices, the daily 'Vanguard' reported. The OPC members were arrested on Tuesday as they were about to hold their weekly meeting.
Tear gas and live bullets were shot during the raid, the paper quoted a member of OPC, Prince Haruna Adeyemi, as saying. Adeyemi, who managed to escape arrest, said those arrested were all taken to a nearby police station.
