Minister of local government dismissed

    NAIROBI

    The Eritrean Minister of Local Government Ahmad Mahmud Sherifo was dismissed from his post, the pro-Eritrean government Visafric news agency said on 14 February, in a report monitored by the BBC. Sherifo confirmed he had been told to leave his post, and said he was not given any reason for his removal. He said he had not been told of his next assignment, Visafric said. The post of Local Government Minster is one of the most senior positions in the Eritrean Government.
