Moyo named in donor fraud

Minister of State for Information and Publicity in the President's Office, Jonathan Moyo, is being sued by the Ford Foundation in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds, 'The Zimbabwe Independent' said on Friday. The newspaper reported that the Ford Foundation had instructed a Kenyan law firm to institute legal action against Moyo. Moyo, a political scientist, left the University of Zimbabwe for Kenya in the mid-1990s to join the Ford Foundation as a programme officer. Moyo was quoted as saying that he was aware of the charges in which he said a total of six people were involved. Moyo said legal papers served on him contained "scurrilous accusations" and he would be dealing with them.
