Samarkand braces for anthrax danger

    ISLAMABAD
    Meanwhile, the Uzbek state veterinary directorate and Samarkand state sanitary-epidemiological centre were working hard “to reinforce all protective barriers along possible routes of penetration of this especially dangerous infection” from neighbouring Kazakhstan, the Uzbek newspaper ‘Pravda Vostoka’ reported. Over 2,000 samples of soil at localities in Uzbekistan where the disease had been registered before were tested, it said.
