MDC threatens to fight back

    The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) on Sunday threatened retaliation against soldiers and policemen harassing and beating up civilians in Harare’s high density suburbs, ‘The Daily News’ said on Monday.

    Nelson Chamisa, the MDC national youth chairman was quoted as saying: “We will drive the soldiers and police out of the suburbs if they continue to harass innocent residents of the city on behalf of ZANU-PF. They should behave like professionals.”

    Chamisa said: “Our national army should not allow itself to be used by desperate politicians. They should maintain their national integrity. I urge them to defend the country’s constitution and desist from being dragged into the political arena.”
