Boys escape from suspected UNITA captors

    JOHANNESBURG

    Two of three boys kidnapped by suspected UNITA bandits inside Angola on 1 January have escaped unharmed, ‘The Namibian’ said on Monday. The third, however, is still missing, although it is believed he also escaped from his captors, the report said.

    The three boys together with their nephew crossed into Angola to graze their animals due to a lack of pasture in their home village of Ohehonge in the Ohangwena region. While at their cattle post on the morning of 1 January a group of about 30 armed men arrived and ordered the boys to go with them and the cattle deeper into Angola.
