Nigeria on Wednesday expressed its readiness to help with the peace process in Burundi. Burundi radio quoted Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo’s special envoy Ralph Euchue as saying his president sent him to Burundi to “communicate certain messages, all of which touch on how we can help to accelerate the peace process in the country”. “We have begun our duty,” Euchue said. “We see it as a duty, it is the duty of all Africans to help brothers and sisters to achieve peace,” he noted. “Our president has the support of all Nigerians to assist in the process in order to achieve peace as soon as possible in your country, Burundi,” he added.
