Seven people died of thirst in the Sahara desert after a vehicle carrying 15 employees of a construction firm broke down not far from the region of Bourem, some 1,300 km north of the Malian capital Bamako, AFP reported on Tuesday. The victims died after walking for several days in the desert in search food and water. The 15 had split into two groups after the breakdown to increase their chances of finding help. The second group survived, AFP said.
