Ruling party sends “spin doctor” to SA

The governing ZANU-PF party has sent a “spin doctor” to South Africa in a campaign “to win the hearts and minds of South Africans” as political violence stemming from rural intimidation and the occupation of white-owned farms increase in Zimbabwe, news reports said on Wednesday.

The reports said ZANU-PF, which recently sent a delegation of high ranking officials to meet the ruling ANC and other organisations in South Africa, regarded Zimbabwe’s powerful southern neighbour as “a gateway to world opinion”, according to a party official quoted in the media.

The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), meanwhile, has also sent a team to South Africa to put its views to the government and public opinion at large.
