The Banque Ouest-Africaine de Developpement, BOAD, loaned Mali 6.9 billion francs CFA (US $9.97 million) on Friday for drainage systems and road building, AFP reported. Just under US $8.0 million will go towards the repair of the 270-km Markala-Niono road northwest of Bamako. The remainder will be used to improve urban streets and drainage systems in the Bamako area.
