Army claims capture of key ADF commander

Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers recently captured the overall ‘commander’ of the rebel Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), Ali Bwambale Mulima, alias Rogers Kabanda, and five other commanders, the semi-official ‘New Vision’ newspaper reported on Friday. Army Chief of Staff Brigadier James Kazini said the six commanders were taken in a UPDF ambush on the DRC side of the Rwenzori Mountains as they were travelling to Kasese, southwestern Uganda, the report stated. The arrest came exactly one month after the surrender of the ADF ‘chief of staff’ Mansur Arnaitwe, alias Commander Benz, the ‘New Vision’ added.
