Mogadishu-based faction leaders Hussein Aideed, Osman Ali Ato and Mohamed Kanyare Afrah arrived in Asmara met with Eritrean government officials on Wednesday, according to a report posted on the Somali newspaper ‘Qaran’ web site. The faction leaders reportedly asked the Eritrean government to give them military assistance. The leaders arrived from Uganda, and were expected to proceed from Asmara to Libya.
