Tension mounts along border

Members of the South African police and National Defence Force have been deployed along the border between the South Africa and Lesotho, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) said on Wednesday. It said that this followed the distribution in the Lesotho capital, Maseru, of pamphlets calling on Lesotho citizens to loot South African shops and homes in cross-border raids. South African police officials were quoted as saying that the “necessary precautions have been taken”.
