The ADF approved on 22 march US $6.69 million for poverty alleviation in the Atlantic Ocean archipelago of Cape Verde. The loan aims to increase the professional skills of the target groups, especially women and unemployed youth.
The project will also create about 130 basic socioeconomic structures and strengthen institutional capacities at the local, municipal and central levels of government. Some 64,000 people, 60 percent of them women, are expected to benefit from the project.
