After a week of negotiations between the Rwandan government and oil importers, both sides agreed on Tuesday that the price of a litre of petrol should be fixed at 310 Rwandan francs and diesel at 305 francs. The deal was announced by Marc Rugenera, the minister for commerce and industries, after a meeting with fuel dealers. “We did not adhere to the prices announced by the finance minister earlier because we had not reached a deal,” Egide Gakuba, the representative of fuel dealers, told IRIN on Wednesday.
