Caprivi trial delay

    JOHANNESBURG

    The treason trial of about 120 Caprivians is likely to be postponed for further investigations when they appear in the Grootfontein Magistrate’s court this week, ‘The Namibian’ reported.

    The newspaper quoted the public prosecutor, Job Kozonguizi, as saying the state would ask for a postponement of between four to six months. Kozonguizi reportedly said the police needed more time to investigate last August’s outbreak of secessionist violence in the Caprivi Strip, which left at least 14 people dead.
