Meanwhile, Namibian paramilitary troops on Sunday fired mortars at suspected UNITA positions just east of the Kavango regional capital, Rundu, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported.
“Residents in the area, near Crook, east of Rundu, say the barrage lasted for half an hour, and no answering fire could be heard or seen,” it said in a brief dispatch.
