President-elect to be sworn in on 22 December

    Niger's President-elect, Mamadou Tandja, will be sworn in on 22 December, AFP reported, quoting reports on Tuesday by the media service of the outgoing military government. Tandja, 61, is a retired colonel who was elected on 24 November in the second round of presidential polls, capturing 59.9 percent of the votes.
