South African President Thabo Mbeki has hailed his Zambian counterpart Frederick Chiluba for announcing he would not amend the constitution and stand for a third term, news reports said.
Speaking at a state dinner in Lusaka on Friday night, Mbeki said the region needed the kind of example set by Chiluba.
