Regional chamber of commerce formed

Chambers of commerce and industry within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have formed a regional representative body, news reports, said on Thursday. The Association of SADC chambers of commerce objective would be to create a forum for dialogue with governments in the region, promote a free market economy and promote the interests of the private sector. The organisation, according to reports also intends to promote the viability and competitiveness of the region and help add value to the region’s primary products. The secretariat of the new organisation will be located within the Mauritius chamber of commerce and industry.
