Botswana has appointed international auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers to administer over US $18.6 million in HIV/AIDS funding from the Global AIDS Fund.
Dr Banu Khan, coordinator of the country's National AIDS Co-ordinating Agency (NACA), told the Botswana Press Agency that the appointment of the auditors was a requirement by the Fund to ensure effective use of the grant.
She said disbursement of the money had been delayed but explained that funds would be released following the presentation of PricewaterhouseCoopers auditing report.
