More action AIDS - former Zambian president

Former Zambian president Kenneth Kaunda on Wednesday said the efforts put into the Iraqi war should rather be directed at the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.

"I wish the energy and resources put into the war could be used in the fight against HIV/AIDS," the US university newspaper Princetonian quoted Kaunda as saying.

Kaunda, who has been at the forefront of the Zambian HIV/AIDS battle, recently made a public statement that his son had died of AIDS-related complications.
