Compulsory HIV/AIDS training for students

    JOHANNESBURG
    Social Science students at Uganda's Bugema University will undergo HIV/AIDS counselling and health care training, a local HIV/ AIDS NGO said on Thursday. The AIDS Support Organisation in Uganda (TASO) said students will be encouraged to help educate communities on HIV prevention and how to live positively with the virus. "The pilot programme proved to be quite successful. Students from the first group have already received their certificates," TASO training manager, Juliana Nyombi told the UN news service PlusNews. Nyombi said the compulsory training starts in May 2003 and will be facilitated by TASO.
