The Namibian Defence Force (NDF) has launched another cross-border operation into southern Angola following an attack on a village in east Kavango where a woman was killed on Monday, ‘The Namibian’ reported.
NDF commander Major-General Martin Shalli was quoted as saying that the troops “will leave no stone unturned until the bandits have been eliminated”. Most villagers fled the area on Monday to Bagani where they could be near Namibian security forces.
Meanwhile, Nampa reported that two paramilitary special field force members and one soldier were seriously wounded on Monday afternoon when they detonated an anti-personnel landmine at Mutc’iku, in the Kavango. The NDF trooper had his right leg amputated at Rundu State Hospital.
