Meanwhile, the spokesman for the G-8 group of Tutsi parties opposed to President Buyoya, has been arrested on charges of subversion, Burundi radio reported. Alphonse Rugambarara, who leads the MSP-Inkinzo party, was accused of “publishing and distributing leaflets calling for subversion”, by chief prosecutor Gerard Ngengabanka. The radio recalled that Rugambarara was arrested shortly after a news conference organised by the G-8 to inform the public about the latest round of talks by signatories to the Arusha agreement.
