UNITA rebels kill three diamond mine workers

    JOHANNESBURG

    Suspected UNITA rebels reportedly killed three workers from the state diamond-mining company, Endiama, at the weekend, the Roman Catholic missionary news agency, 'Misna', has reported. The rebels ambushed the vehicle near the town of Nzaji in the northeastern Lunda Norte province, where Endiama has extensive mining operations, Misna said. Two of the workers were Angolan and one was Portuguese. Last week UNITA said its guerrillas had attacked a government-held town southwest of the capital Luanda, killing 22 soldiers.
