Radioactive spill at Astana railway

About 200 litres of a radioactive solution used in ore processing was spilled from a cracked railway tanker at the Kazakh capital Astana on Tuesday, Russian news agency Itar-Tass reported. According to the news agency, the area affected was cordoned off by police and emergency personnel were removing the contaminated soil. There were no immediate reports as to whether anyone was affected by the spill.
