The MISA study finds that women's views are under-represented in the media in southern Africa
    JOHANNESBURG

    The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) said on Monday that Angolan journalist Victor Vunge had been held in police custody in the northern Namibian town of Ondangwa for nearly a month. MISA said that Vunge was at Onanjokwe Hospital in Onanjokwe, where he was receiving medical treatment. MISA it was unable to give any more details about his condition, as the organisation was not allowed to speak to him.

    MISA said that according to police officials from the Ondangwa charge office, in early January, Vunge was arrested at the Angolan border after he attempted to enter Namibia illegally. He was detained and charged under the Immigration Act and has since appeared in court. The case has been postponed.
