Study on land grab out soon

    JOHANNESBURG

    Zimbabwe and the World Bank will this month release the results of a report on the economic and social implications of the government’s controversial land resettlement scheme, Lands and Agriculture Minister Joseph Made was quoted in news reports as saying on Friday.

    Made said a team of government economists and sociologists has been working with World Bank officials over the past six months to produce a report that will look at the effects of different methods of land resettlement. “We are hoping that by the end of February we will have the document ready and I believe that once it’s out, the report will be used as the way forward for the future of land reform in this country,” Made told church leaders and NGO officials in Harare last week.
