Boys join Angolan military

    JOHANNESBURG

    Jobless Namibian boys aged 14 to 16 are allegedly daily joining the Angolan Civil Defence Force Unit (CDFU), a division of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), the official Nampa news agency reported on Monday.
    According to the dispatch, the boys are signing up with the CDFU at the recently-established FAA temporary base near the Namibia-Angolan border at Oehonge village near the Ohangwena region, about 50 km east of Oshikango. The base is 10 km inside Angola.

    The boys are mostly from Oehonge, Onhunda, Eexwa, Ohauwanga, Eenghwiyu and Epinga villages, and many of them reportedly joined the CDFU in December last year. It is alleged they volunteered to earn a wage.
