Militant youths from 10 ethnic Ijaw communities in Nigeria's southern Delta
State have disrupted oil drilling activities of US oil giant Chevron to back
demands for jobs and amenities, the 'Vanguard' newspaper reported on
Thursday.
The Lagos newspaper said the action had affected 20 new oil wells being
drilled in the company's Dibi oilfield, where oil service companies Giogio
Ltd, Westminster Dredging and Marine, as well as NACAP were laying pipelines
to pump crude oil from the wells.
