Mutual accusations of deportations continue

Ethiopia and Eritrea continued over the weekend to trade accusations of deportations of each other's nationals. Ethiopian radion reported on Friday that 1,152 Ethiopians expelled by the Eritrean government crossed the border near Rama. It said most of them were women, children and the elderly. It said they had been stripped of their belongings by the Eritreans, who had held back young men and the husbands of the women. Eritrean radio reported on Monday that 603 Eritreans expelled from Tigray had arrived in Molki in south-west Eritrea over the past two days. It said they had been dispossessed of their property and more than 5,000 head of livestock.
