The two main political parties in Zimbabwe, the ruling ZANU-PF party and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), will hold their showcase rallies this weekend in the capital, Harare.
President Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-PF party is facing the stiffest challenge to its 20-year rule from the labour-backed MDC in parliamentary elections on 24-25 June.
