President Robert Mugabe says that he will only retire once the national congress of his ruling ZANU-PF party has voted him out.
Speaking at an election rally in Marondera in eastern Zimbabwe, Mugabe said that some former parliamentarians were wasting their time calling for him toleave. "Some people in parliament want Mugabe to be removed from power. They forget that they had a job to represent the interest of their people," he said.
"I will only get out of power if the congress decides. If the congress votes us out, well we will go," he added.
