President Chiluba has condemned the fighting between Rwandan and Ugandan groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as "a shame to Africa".
He has called on both countries to end the fighting, and save the Congo further pain and misery. Chiluba said he would undertake a peace mission on both countries to try to end the latest flare-up between the former allies.
He said he had already spoken by telephone with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
