Angolan journalist Andre Mussamo, local correspondent of the bi-weekly `Folha 8', was acquitted on Friday by the provincial court of Cuanza Norte, Angolan news reports, monitored by BBC, said.
He was accused of violating state secrets. Ordering his release, the court found that charges that he had sought to publish the contents of a document containing secret and classified military information in the paper, was groundless.
Mussamo told journalists that he was "pleased" at the court's decision to acquit him.
