Rebel defector forms new faction

    NAIROBI

    A former interior minister in the rebel Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie (RCD), Rogers Lumbala Tshitenge, has recently announced the formation of a new faction of the RCD, according to the 'New Vision'. Tshitenge, who defected early last month, said his faction would be called Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie-Nationale (RCD-N). He has reportedly started mobilising people to join his party.
