Entebbe-Kisangani cargo flights resume

Civilian cargo flights resumed on Wednesday between Entebbe airport in Uganda and Kisangani, the 'New Vision' reported on Thursday. An Illyushin-76 aircraft, owned by Navette Air, landed at Bangoka on Wednesday afternoon "to a rousing welcome from traders", the paper said. The aircraft, chartered by Congolese and Ugandan traders, was loaded with consumer goods. "The people were not starving, but they had no salt, sugar or medicine," the report quoted a source in Kisangani as saying. "Many
motor vehicles are grounded because of lack of fuel," he added. "Shops and stalls in the market are virtually dry," a Congolese trader was quoted as saying.
