Kenyans break through rebel lines

Sierra Leone’s government announced on Thursday that besieged Kenyan UN troops had broken through rebel lines in Makeni and Magburaka, north of Freetown. The Kenyans then reached Kabala, which is further north, the government said on state-run Democracy FM radio. The government said six of the Kenyans, who are now securing Kabala along with members of the Sierra Leonean Army, were wounded and that they had been transferred to Freetown for medical care.
